CANADA – The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) has announced the election of Fiona Murray, Vice President of Public and Government Affairs at Canada National Railway (CN) as its new Chair, the first female Board Chair in the association's 103-year history.
US – Norfolk Southern has named Barbara Paul as its new Vice President of Human Resources, effective since May 1. Paul most recently served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Diversity. She first joined Norfolk Southern in 2005 as an Employee Development Officer and then moved into marketing.
US – Tenneco has announced Dennis Letham, formaerly Lead Independent Director, as its new Chair. Letham succeeds Gregg Sherill, who served as non-executive Chair of the Board since 2018, and as Chair for over 10 years after joining Tenneco in January of 2007 as the Company's Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is effective immediately. Sherrill will remain a member of the Board and announced that he intends to retire prior to next year's annual meeting of stockholders.
Additionally, Roy Armes has been added to the Audit Committee and Aleksandra Miziolek will join the Board's Compensation Committee.
MALAYSIA – U-Freight Group has announced the appointment of Ong Boon Seong as a Director of U-Freight Logistics Sdn Bhd, based at the company’s branch office in Johor Bahru in Malaysia. He will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive portfolio of bonded LTL and FTL trucking services between Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, including Customs clearance at the border between the three countries.
UK – Cian O’Brien has been appointed to Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK, taking over from Carl zu Dohna.
His predecessor left the brand last week to take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Volkswagen Financial Services. O’Brien will join the brand from his current role as Executive Vice President and chief operating officer at Audi of America. O’Brien will begin his new role on July 1.
SOUTH AFRICA – Aero Africa, the Hong Kong based air cargo management group, has announced the appointment of James Cameron as Director Product Development, Southern Africa. He joins Aero Africa after spending more than 10 years with Neutral Wholesaler CFR Freight.
In his new position as Aero Africa’s Director Product Development Southern Africa, Cameron will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and responsible for developing the airfreight consolidation products and scheduled cargo service into the region, as well as monitoring and overseeing all shipments to and from Southern Africa.
