FM Logistic has opened the second stage of its warehouse in the Noginsk district, near Moscow, to meet demand from customers in the FMCG sector.

The newly built section offers 12,500 sqm of additional space, bringing the facility’s total surface to 66,000 sqm and its storage capacity to 85,000 pallet spaces. Among the companies already using the Noginsk facility are Henkel and Bonduelle.

The capacity increase is part of a 3.6 billion Rouble investment covering the construction and operation. The Noginsk site currently employs 250 people, and the extension will create an additional 100 jobs.

Christophe Menivard, FM Logistic’s managing director for Russia and Eastern Europe, said: “The FM Logistic warehouse in Noginsk is strategically located close to the second main flow of goods to and from Moscow, making it a great choice for current and potential customers. We have seen rising interest from customers in this location, which led us to expand it. The Noginsk facility not only features modern warehouse equipment, it also brings new jobs to the Moscow region.”

The Noginsk warehouse provides storage, warehousing and co-packing services. It features self-driving picking trolleys from Balea, photo control and automated equipment to speed up co-packing operations. It is also going to offer cross-docking operations and has dedicated storage space for hazardous goods.

FM Logistic has been active in Russia since 1994 and currently employs about 10,000 people in the country. The construction of the Noginsk logistics facility began in 2016.

Founded in France in 1967, FM Logistic is a family-owned independent logistics company with revenue of €1.3 billion in the fiscal year to March 2019. It is active in 14 countries across Europe, Asia, and Latin America (Brazil) and employs more than 27,000 people.
