On March 20, CNOOC announced that Mr. Hu Guangjie was appointed as the company's executive director and president; Mr. Xu Keqiang resigned as the company's president, while continuing to serve as the company's executive director and CEO.



Hu Guangjie, born in July 1973, is a senior engineer with a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering of Chengdu University of Technology and a master's degree in oil and gas field development engineering of China University of Petroleum.


He used to be the deputy manager of Northwest Oilfield Branch of Sinopec. In March 2020, he was appointed as the deputy general manager and member of the party group of CNOOC.


On March 20, 2020, he served as executive director and president of CNOOC.
