We mainly handle export and import cargo in Nepal by sea, surface, and air. Nepal being a landlocked country, the country does its exports or imports primarily through Kolkata Port, India, by sea. Kolkata Port, from the very beginning, be it an export or import by sea. Since the last two decades, they have also been using Haldia Port, India. All companies in Nepal, whether in the public or private sector, conduct all exports and imports through Kolkata / Haldia Port only for sea shipments. In light of the recent decision by India to allow Nepal to use the 60-kilometer “Corridor” to Bangladesh, they are now contemplating greater use of Chittagong/Mongla Port. We are also trying to start an associate office in those places.
